Mattier’s life has been hard ever since her mother died. Mattie has to take care of her four younger siblings along with the farm. Mattie’s life is hard, even for a sixteen year-old. Though I would say that A Northern Light is okay so far, because the story is going very slow. Though right on the hundredth page, something really “interesting” happened, which made me want to read more. Unfortunately, I was considering to stop reading, but page hundred gave me a reason not to. I hope that the story will catch on from here because I’m “growing” into liking historical fiction.
One of the quotes I found searching through the book (randomly). I thought it was nice. 
“For the first time, I saw what was in his heart, and I wondered if he might ever want to look deep enough to see mine.”
Right now, I give A Northern Light Rating:
