Along For a Ride, By Sarah Dessen

alongforrideAlong For a Ride, by Sarah Dessen is about teenager Auden West. Ever since her parents divorced, Auden has been missing out on her social life, including her sleep. Summertime has come, and Auden has been invited to stay with her dad, her new wife, Heidi, and their new baby, Thisby. Starting from there, Auden’s life changes in a matter of weeks. Auden has volunteered to work at Heidi’s boutique where she learns about friendship, socializing, and relationships. Auden also meets Eli, also a loner, who is different from all the other guys in Colby. As Auden and Eli’s relationship progresses, Eli teaches Auden how to live the carefree, teenage life she’s always missed out on, and Eli tries to leave his depressing past behind him.

My opinion: Out of all the Sarah Dessen books I’ve read, I think I’ve enjoyed Along For a Ride the most. Sarah has always captured my attention when reading her books, especially this one: the characters were easy to relate to, and the problems and conflicts that happens in her stories are so similar to a teens’. Sarah Dessen will never disappoint you in any of her books.
