Alphas, by Lisi Harrison
Alphas, written by Lisi Harrison is the starting of the spin-off series, Alphas. One hundred girls are handpicked by the inspiring and amazing Shira to be sent off to Alpha Academy. Skye, Charlie, and Allie J. are the main characters who have been chosen to be sent off to a secret island. Each of them have been alphas themselves, but little do they know that they have to compete with other alphas. Drama even starts the day the girls get there. There’s nothing better than sneaking off with Shira’s sons, which happens to be off limits. After sneaking around the island, the girls get caught. Nothing gets past Shira, so she kicks out one of the so-called “alphas” in front of the entire academy! There could only be one Alpha, and the girls will do anything to be that one.
My opinion: I absolutely loved reading Alphas! I am usually not a fan of spin-offs, but I can tell that this series will be just as good as The Clique. Lisi Harrison really gets you into her writing because I feel like I’m actually at the academy. The characters are unique and funny, the island is ah-mazing, and there is nothing I didn’t like about this book. I read the book in a day, and I’m dying for more. I recommend this to all Poppy fans, all girls, and anyone who wants to try out something new.
