ARSON GABLE FEELS LIKE A FREAK. HE CAN CREATE FIRE. HE NEVER ASKED FOR IT. HE NEVER WANTED IT. BUT HE CAN’T SHUT IT OFF.
Its summertime and Arson is alone as usual. Working at an ice cream shop is probably not what he wants to do all summer. Creating fire is another thing he can do, but Arson doesn’t even like fire. He even has vivid nightmares about that day. Just when Arson thought life couldn’t get any worse, Emery moves into a house that’s been vacant for years. Emery isn’t normal either; she covers her face with a mask and Arson seems to be the only one who can understand her. While becoming closer to Emery and volunteering at a hospital, Arson forgets about most of his troubles, except about his nightmarish past.
My opinion: I LOVED READING ARSON. Plot: Great. Characters: AWESOME! Since Arson was written in an omniscient point of view, I got to read not just about Arson, but about Emery, her parents, and even Arson’s grandma. Arson was very well detailed and had everything in it. First of all, I loved Arson himself. His personality is quiet, but funny, and overall enjoyable. Emery was HILARIOUS. Her sarcasm made me laugh every time I thought about her and how she is so brave to wear that mask! (Its really hard for me to like how I look without thinking about how people look at me.) Emery has become one of my book heroines! Besides Arson being MY FIRST ARC EVER, Arson was a GREAT story. Just recently, I heard that Estevan was writing a SEQUEL to Arson! In the story, I knew that Arson just HAS to be continued. I’m so glad that Arson will have a continuation, I can’t wait! I recommend this to everyone! Both girls and boys will enjoy Arson just the same.
Also, special thanks to Estevan Vega! You are an amazing writer and I am so glad to be one of your firsts to read Arson. Thank you so much for the signed copy, I’m looking forward to reading more about Arson and Emery!
