SYNOPSIS – (From Goodreads)
When her boyfriend, Danny, is killed in a car accident, Wren can’t imagine living without him. Wild with grief, she uses the untamed powers she’s inherited to bring him back. But the Danny who returns is just a shell of the boy she once loved.
Wren has spent four months keeping Danny hidden, while her life slowly unravels around her. Then Gabriel DeMarnes transfers to her school and somehow, inexplicably, he can sense her secret. Wren finds herself drawn to Gabriel, who is so much more alive than the ghost of the boy she loved. But Wren can’t turn her back on Danny or the choice she made for him—and she realizes she must find a way to make things right, even if it means breaking her own heart.
Amy Garvey’s transcendent teen debut is perfect for fans of Shiver and Beautiful Creatures. Wren’s unforgettable voice and story will stay with readers long after the last page is turned.
THOUGHTS
Cold Kiss was a nice, quick read. Although Cold Kiss isn’t your typical sappy love story, Amy Garvey will capture readers with its deep and romantic feature.
I particularly liked the plot. The whole idea of bringing your boyfriend back to life by creating your own spell is crazy and intriguing. It also shows how much you really love someone. Wren and Danny seemed like a really good couple before the accident. You could tell that their relationship was just a phase in high school. After Danny was brought back to life, however, I started to realize that their relationship wasn’t like how it was before.
I was a little disappointed with how Gabriel played out in the story. I thought he would just be the guy who helped Wren out, but that’s it.
In the end, Cold Kiss was okay. I felt that the ending was rushed, but the plot keeps you really interested until the book actually finishes. Cold Kiss is an interesting witchcraft/zombie-like novel that everyone should read!
