Eyes Like Stars, By Lisa Mantchev
Eyes LIke Stars, by Lisa Mantchev is about seventeen-year-old Beatrice Shakespeare Smith. (aka Bertie) Bertie has lived in the enchanted Théâtre Illuminata ever since she could remember. Théâtre Illuminata isn’t just an ordinary theatre. Its a magical theatre where all the characters come to life. Every play, script, and character is included in The Book. Bertie thinks she has a good life ahead of her while living at Théâtre Illuminata, until she makes a big mess up. Bertie is forced to move out of the theatre unless she comes up with a good reason to participate and help the theatre. Bertie then comes up with a bizarre idea that everyone seems to agree with. Although, its not up to the characters of the plays, its up to the Theater Manager. If the Theater Manager accepts, what will Bertie do? Will she stay in Théâtre Illuminata? Or will she have to leave?
My opinion: I really enjoyed reading Eyes Like Stars. It wasn’t until the middle of the book I got really into it, unfortunately. I thought the beginning was a little boring, but as the story progressed, I started to like reading Eyes Like Stars more and more. I have not read anything like Eyes Like Stars before, so I liked reading something fresh. The characters were great! I loved the fact that they all had different and unique personalities. I think that Eyes Like Stars is a fun-filled fantasy adventure that I am sure you will enjoy reading. I hope there will be more books to come because I will definitely read them all.
