Mysterious and realistic dreams begin to occur in sixth grader Francey’s life. The dreams take place three and a half centuries ago, during Lady Susan Sebastian and Edward Delaney’s time. But what does this forbidden couple have to do with Francey? Catching her father’s (Rick St. Martin) attention, he starts to dig up the clues that lead to what is really happening to Francey. Though her father isn’t the only one who is interested, Francey’s teacher and a lord start to take notice. By discovering Francey’s artistic vision and her vivid descriptions of the past, the people
who love Francey start to uncover who she really is.
My opinion: After reading The Horrifying Tale of Mrs. Trollope, I absolutely fell in love with Martin’s writing! Francey is very well detailed, it is just as if you’re in the story with Francey and the rest of the characters. I haven’t read a book like Francey before, especially with the whole back-in-time theme. I also haven’t read a book about a character like Francey, because she is so talented for a sixth grader! I was so awed about how great this book was; not only because the writing was different, but because how the characters, the plot, the theme, and everything that you would find in a book, was amazing. PureĀ genius, as I would call it. I still go through my favorite parts of Francey to remind myself how much I love her. If you love YA and Adult paranormal books, this is the perfect book for you. And if you want to try something new, give Francey a try!
