Frenemies, by Alex Young is about Avalon Green and Halley Brandon have been friends ever since they can remember. They know every detail and characteristic about each other, share their deepest secrets, and even share a puppy. And this year, Avalon is planning to host a party in honor of her and Halley’s friendship. This all changes when Halley comes back from art camp. Halley’s new style doesn’t grab Avalon’s attention, it annoys her. Avalon is major on fashion, so if Halley doesn’t change her style back to her old one, things will change. Halley starts to see who Avalon really is, and realizes that their friendship might have to come to an end.
My opinion: I thought that Frenemies was alright. I feel like I’ve read this before, so it was a type of book where I knew what would happen when the story ended. I thought the characters had good personalities. Avalon is very fashionable and isn’t afraid to get what she wants, while Halley is nice and caring. Both of them share personalities in different ways which makes the story more enjoyable. Though I don’t think I will continue to read this series. I reccomend this book to fans of Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, Private, and the Luxe Series.
