SYNOPSIS – (From Goodreads)
Alexis is the last girl you’d expect to sell her soul for beauty and popularity. After all, she already has everything she needs–an adorable boyfriend, the perfect best friend, and a family that finally seems to be healing after her sister Kasey’s unfortunate possession by an evil spirit.
But then Kasey tells Alexis about the mysterious new club she has joined, and the oath she has taken to someone named Aralt. Worried that Kasey’s gotten in over her head again, Alexis and her best friend Megan decide to investigate by joining the Sunshine Club, too. At first, their connection with Aralt seems harmless. Alexis tries a new — normal– look, and finds herself reveling in her elegance and success.
Still, despite the Sunshine Club’s outward perfection, the group is crumbling from within, and soon Alexis finds herself battling her own personal demons. She can hardly even remember why she joined in the first place. Surely it wasn’t to destroy Aralt…why would she hurt someone who has given her so much, and asked for so little in return?
THOUGHTS
From Bad to Cursed = OH. MY. GOSH. This book was so intense! There were so many twists and turns! When I thought I made a pretty good prediction on what was going to happen next, something even better happens. Katie Alender wrote a really good sequel to her Bad Girls Don’t Die Series! Plus, instead of Kasey getting into paranormal trouble, this time it was Lexi. And I liked that; it was different in a good way!
All the things that you know about Lexi, Kasey, and the rest of the Bad Girls Don’t Die are going to change. The Sunshine Club makes a huge impact on the girls, and even on Carter. I was shocked when Lexi decided to join the Sunshine Club. Who knew what she was getting into?! There was also a big change with Lexi’s relationships. I was so surprised when I read what happened to her friends and other Sunshine Club members. I couldn’t believe what I was reading!
I was happy to read that Lexi and Carter’s relationship was growing. I was a little disappointed in Bad Girls Don’t Die, but Katie Alender totally made up for it! Your hopes won’t be let down!
On the other hand, I have to say that I liked reading Bad Girls Don’t Die better than From Bad to Cursed. Don’t get me wrong, they were both really good reads, but I thought Bad Girl’s Don’t Die was more exciting! There were more intense scenes with Lexi that really scared me. But I didn’t get that same excited rush with From Bad to Cursed. Maybe it was because I read it during the day? Whatever the reason was, I still loved both books. I can’t wait until the third book!
Finally, the cover of From Bad to Cursed was just as amazing as Bad Girls Don’t Die! Both covers had the same vintage appeal. I am in love with what the model is wearing.
If you liked Bad Girl’s Don’t Die, you’ll definitely like reading From Bad to Cursed!
