Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen. Annabel, the youngest of her family, who has been in a bad situation since she had a big fight with her best friend, Sophie. Annabel and Sophie have been best friends since the sixth grade and this fight has ruined their relationship. Annabel hasn’t talked about this fight, ever. Now Annabel is lonely, friendless, and miserable as ever. Nothing has ever been the same, until she meets Owen. Owen is also a loner, who loves music, and is always honest. Annabel and Owen develop a friendship in which Owen helps Annabel understand music, and herself. After understanding not only herself, will Annabel ever be strong enough to tell anyone what really happened on the day of the fight?
My opinion: Just Listen was a great book. This is the fourth book I’ve read by Sarah Dessen, and she has never failed me. Sarah Dessen knows how to bring characters to life in a whole new way. You will not be disappointed when you read Just Listen. This book is highly recommended to all Sarah Dessen fans and those who have been in a difficult situations similar to Annabel.
