That "thing" in the middle is one of the many paper cranes that were made for the signing.. I found it on the floor! I DIDN'T STEAL IT.
Last week, I found out that Maggie Stiefvater was actually coming to California! This was an opportunity that I couldn’t miss! Especially since she was coming ALL the way from Virginia.
I left around 5:30 hoping to get a seat upfront, but boy was I WRONG. There were so many people at Borders.. I was shocked. Luckily for me, I got a seat on the fourth row thanks to a kind lady.

Here's a picture of the signing from where I'm sitting! (Maggie is NOT hiding from the camera. She was fixing her hair!)
After talking about the series and sharing a few stories, she answered a few questions then judged the fan art contest. I guess you can call singing art, because someone wrote and sang a song! (She won second place, BTW.) After looking at the amazing art the fans created, we finally got to get our books signed!
I was also surprised that I wasn’t the youngest Stiefvater fan at the event. There were girls that looked about 8 or 9 that were at the signing! Yeah, I didn’t think girls that age read YA books either.
So anyway, I had a great time finally meeting Maggie and finally getting my hands on Linger! (Now I don’t have to wait for my turn at the library!) I’m so glad that I went because if I haven’t, you would have seen me all mopey and sad on Twitter.
Also, special thanks to my Grandpa who took me to the event because if it weren’t for him, I couldn’t have gone.
