In Marked: A House of Night Novel, by P.C. and Kristin Cast, Zoey Redbird, joins a school, the House of Night as a fledging vampyre after being Marked on an ordinary day of high school. Zoey has been having a bad life after her mother remarried and she is willing to do anything to get out of the house. Zoey then goes to the House of Night and realizes that she has been specially chosen by Nyx, goddess of night and headmaster of the House of Night. Nyx has granted Zoey powers that are special even to Zoey herself. Zoey’s journey starts as she enters the House of Night. This is the first book of the series: House of Night.

My opinion on the book: I really enjoyed this book! I thought it would just be another Twilight wannabe story, but its actually different and unique. I thought it was boring at first, especially at the beginning, but as I read more, I began to enjoy it. Readers who love Twilight will love this series!! I know I can’t wait to get the next book!
