Perfect, by Natasha Friend is about a thirteen year-old girl named Isabelle. Ever since the death of her father, her life came crashing down. Her mother has become a mess, she refuses to talk about the death (even after two years) and cries herself to sleep at night. Isabelle’s mother isn’t the only one having a hard time, Isabelle and her 10 year-old sister, April, both have problems with the loss of their father. Isabelle has an eating disorder; eating everything she can until her stomach hurts and throws it up afterwards. April used to be nice and sweet, but fighting has become a daily routine for the both of them. Isabelle has to take a group therapy class which includes Ashley, the most popular and perfect girl in school. Together, they form a friendship and Isabelle learns that Ashley is not perfect at all.
My opinion on the book: I thought this book was alright. It was pretty predictable after I read the description. I went through the book quickly; I read it in one sitting! I recommend this book to girls with free time.
