The Dark Divine, by Bree Despain is about Grace Divine, who is dragged into a dangerous, paranormal romance. Grace is expected to always be the good girl-especially since her father is the local pastor. But when Daniel, a very close childhood friend comes back to town, everything changes, especially Grace’s older brother. Grace doesn’t understand the cold past that her brother holds, especially since she doesn’t know what happened. As Grace becomes closer to Daniel, her relationship with her brother and family changes. Grace knows that she shouldn’t be around him, but she can’t resist him. She also finds herself getting closer to the truth; Daniel’s secret and the night where Grace’s brother appeared on their doorstep covered in blood. Maybe Daniel was a mistake after all..

My opinion: I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with The Dark Divine. I thought it would be more than just.. werewolves. What I was reading was great, especially since all this suspense was building up. The characters were also fun to learn about, so was the plot. (Before the werewolves). I didn’t see the werewolves come in the story until the “Hounds of Hell” chapter came in. (Which was probably a little more than halfway through the book). Right there I thought, “Hounds?! Werewolves?! What?!?!” I guess I didn’t like The Dark Divine because I didn’t want something that had vampires or werewolves in it. I do not recommend this. Especially if you want something new!
