Lizzie, Hudson, and Carina are three fourteen-year-olds who are daughters of celebrity icons. Lizzie is the daughter of a super model, Hudson is the daughter of a pop star, and Carina is the daughter of a billionaire. They are fine living behind their parents’ shadows, just as long as they have each other. But little do they know that
they are the new celebrities to watch. While trying to stick together, the daughters have drama of their own. Can the three girls stick together while trying to keep their own lives from falling apart?
My opinion: There’s something different about The Daughters-its not your typical rich/celebrity/snobby/teen novel, its based on an actual Daughter. Joanna Philbin is the daughter of Regis Philbin, and has experience of growing up as the child of a celebrity. The thing I like about The Daughters is that the story isn’t about Joanna, its just based on her. The idea of being a Daughter is what makes the book so unique. When I started to read The Daughters, I was immediately hooked. I couldn’t stop reading it! I wasn’t worried at all about disliking the book because Joanna Philbin has her own style of writing that you can relate to. The Daughters are really just living normal lives, while trying keep their “celebrity lives” apart from school. If you liked The Clique, The A-List, Gossip Girl, Private, My Hollywood Life, or any of those other series, you’ll love The Daughters. I know I did!
