The Hunger Games, By Suzanne Collins is about sixteen-year-old Katniss who lives in the ruins of North America called Panem. The Capitol of Panem consists of twelve districts, Katniss lives in District Twelve. Every year, The Capitol forces each district to send one boy and one girl to participate in the annual Hunger Games. Katniss has volunteered to take her sister’s place in the games, and is thrown into the arena with twenty-three other contestants. The Hunger Games is a show that is broadcasted on television where viewers watch the contestants fight for their lives. Only one can survive, so it is life or death for Katniss. Katniss deals with brutality, danger, and the fight for her life.
My opinion: I think The Hunger Games has become one of my favorite books. This book has been recommended by one of my friends, and I am glad that she recommended it to me. The action in the book starts right away, and every chapter made me want to read the next. I was not disappointed with The Hunger Games at all; the characters and the plot pleased me very much. I think that anyone will enjoy reading The Hunger Games because this is a book for everyone to read. I highly recommend you to read this book, you will not be disappointed. I am definitely going to continue to read the series!
