Check out my 100 Pages Meme post on The Iron King!
Meghan Chase hasn’t fit in, well, anywhere. Though as her sixteenth birthday approaches, Meghan feels that some things are about to change: Meghan’s brother disappears (and has been replaced), something is following her, and her best friend is suddenly over protective. The next thing you know, Meghan is caught into the world of faeries. Meghan has to take life-threatening risks to be able to find her brother. Not only that, she finds out that she’s the daughter of a faery king, and is falling for the enemy. With danger lurking at every corner, how far do
you think Meghan will go to save her brother?
My opinion: When I read The Iron King, I knew that I would love reading it because I love reading about faeries. You’d think that faeries are sweet and innocent, but they’re not. They’re dangerous, tricky, and mysterious. And that is just what The Iron King is all about. With another clue leading to another, you might just have to stay up an extra hour to finish reading it. Though I’ve seen similarities between The Iron King and Wicked Lovely (by Melissa Marr): the “glamour”, the similar powers, how faeries are prone to iron, how both books have the same types of faeries (except maybe about The Iron Court), and how both main characters (Meghan and Aislinn) were apart of The Summer Court. I tried to ignore those similarities because The Iron King was really interesting! If you are a Melissa Marr Fan, an Aprilynne Pike fan, or just a plain faerie fan, you must read this book! The Iron King will have you wanting for more, and Julie Kagawa is an author to watch! I am definitely planning on reading The Iron Daughter!
