Guest post written by my friend, Courtney!
The Last Song is about a teenage girl named Veronica “Ronnie” Miller and her brother Jonah being shipped to their Dad’s for the summer. They haven’t seen their Dad for three years, so it’s drastic for Ronnie because of what happened between her parents. She can’t stand her Dad really. Ronnie doesn’t want to be there at all, she hates it so much. And she didn’t expect falling for a guy named Will Blacklee. There are so many details in this book I would love to share, but I didn’t expect any of it when I was reading it. I want you guys to be surprised too. It’s very involved with drama, family, relationships, and how hard love can be. It was the perfect love story and family story, I couldn’t have picked a better book by Nicholas Sparks to read. It made me cry so much when I was finishing it, it touched me, I hope it will touch you too. I felt that as if it taught me a lesson: to cherish life.

Movie:

The movie is like the book, but had its differences. I was disappointed because of the good details they left out. They changed the story a little bit, which I didn’t like. I wish they stuck to the book, but I guess I would say I’m satisfied with the movie. Miley Cyrus did a fantastic job, it’s different from what she does, and I give her a thumbs up for her first real breakthrough movie. She portrayed the character Ronnie really well. Liam Hemsworth did great too. I’ve never heard of him until this movie. He’s very handsome, if I might add. Bobby Coleman is just adorable. They couldn’t have picked a better Jonah. He really did get into his character. He’s a great actor for a teen like my age. Greg Kinnear did AMAZING. While I was reading the book, I could very much picture HIM as the dad. Though I couldn’t picture anyone else. Kelly Preston wasn’t in the movie much, but as always, she did great like she always does. I don’t regret seeing this movie, I really enjoyed it. I cried at times because it was sad, but that doesn’t stop me from liking the movie. You should see it.
