The Marvelous Effect, the first book of the series, Marvelous World, by Troy CLE is about thirteen-year-old Louis Proof. Louis is just an ordinary guy who likes what teenage boys like: hip hop, car racing, and spending time with his best friend, Brandon. One day, heĀ receivesĀ a letter from “The Magnificent ProliFnGlitcH” inviting him to a junkyard. A junkyard? Who would get invited to something like that? Turns out, the junkyard is actually the JunkYard JunkLot, an amusement park underground, and not like any other. Louis and Brandon are amazed and can’t believe it! While Brandon doesn’t want to leave, Louis says its time to go. They promise to go the next day, but something wrong happens: a little after Louis left the JunkYard JunkLot, he started having weird visions. Then, the visions lead to putting Louis into a coma for three months. After those three months, Louis wakes up. He’s lost weight, and feeling better than ever. After questioning his mother for so long, he meets Timothy, a boy who can answer all Louis’s questions. Louis is then put into a dangerous adventure, that will change his life around.
My opinion: The Marvelous Effect was better than expected! Actually, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. After I read each chapter, I had to keep reading! The Marvelous Effect reminded me of The Percy Jackson & The Olympians series, which is one of my favorite series. If you liked reading The Percy Jackson & The Olympians series, The Alex Rider Series, and the Harry Potter series. They are all, including The Marvelous Effect, great reads.
