This Lullaby, by Sarah Dessen

SYNOPSIS
This Lullaby, by Sarah Dessen is a story about Remy who doesn’t believe in love. First because her Dad wrote the famous song, This Lullaby and died before she was born. And second because her mother has remarried four times. Now Remy is planning for her mother’s fifth remarriage, only because “She takes on husbands the way other people change their hair color: out of boredom, listlessness, or just feeling that this next one will fix everything, once and for all.” While just graduating from high school, Remy knows that this summer will be all about short-term relationships because of college. Then Remy meets Dexter. A guy who fits her never-to-be-dated list perfectly: he’s in a band and he pursues Remy (I mean, Remy sees him everywhere she goes). Everything changes when Remy gives Dexter a chance. What if Remy doesn’t want to stick with her old rules after all?

THOUGHTS
Once I put This Lullaby on hold at the library, I knew at once that it would be a great read. I’ve read about 4 or 5 Sarah Dessen books and I loved them all. This Lullaby was what I expected: real, sweet, and easy to understand. I absolutely loved reading about Remy! She was funny, stubborn, sarcastic, and not like any other character I’ve read about before. You could tell that Remy’s story about her summer before college really changed her life. This Lullaby is a great summer read, and its perfect if you want a quick read. I’m sure you’ll like the ending because I know I did! If you know how great Sarah Dessen and her books are, you know that This Lullaby will be another good book. I recommend that you should REALLY READ THIS LULLABY!
