My Top 10 Vampire Books

Since every other book in the teen section of the book store is about vampires, I’ve decided to do a list of my top ten favorite vampire books that I have read. I’ve read about twenty vampire books, so it was hard to choose which one would go on this list. Hopefully this list will help you decide which vampire book to read next. I want to hear from you. Please post your favorite in the comment section below. WARNING, some of these contain spoilers.

10: Breaking Dawn, By Stephenie Meyer has made tenth place. I liked this book because Bella was finally a vampire. It was nice to see her as a vampire, but I didn’t think it was enough. I wish the series would have ended with at least a fifth book, just to see how Bella and Renesmee grow. It was also cool to read a little of Jacob’s side of the story, and to see what he was really thinking. I haven’t done a review on this book yet, but I would give it 4 stars.

9: New Moon, also by Stephenie Meyer is also my favorite. I didn’t like how Edward left Bella, but it was kind of funny how Bella tried so hard to bring Edward back. When reading New Moon, it was weird because I already knew that Jacob was a werewolf. I didn’t have second thoughts about it, I just knew. Lots of girls think that New Moon was the worst out of the series, but I thought it was better than Eclipse.

8: Marked: A House of Night Novel, by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast. I have to say the book itself is better than the rest of the series. I really liked the plot of the story, also since it made it easier to understand. I finished the book in two days, and I read the next book, Betrayed, right away. I thought the series was getting better and better after each book! But after I finished the third book, Chosen, I didn’t seem to like it as much. The story seemed to be repeating itself, and the problems were similar to each other, and I got tired of that. Now I think the series is alright, and I am not sure if I am going to continue to read the rest of the series, and I thought Marked was the best out of the House of Night Series. You can read my review on this book here.

7: Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, by Beth Fantaskey was a great novel! I haven’t done a review on it yet, but I have to say that I enjoyed reading this. When I first read the description, I thought that this novel was another Twilight copy cat. And of course, it wasn’t. I was happy that it wasn’t because I finished the book in a day. The characters were unique, and funny at the same time. I haven’t done a review on this either, but I give this book 4.5 stars. I recommend this book to all girls who love reading about vampires.

6: Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer was really exciting in every way. Not only it was my first vampire book I read, but it was a book I could not wait to finish. At first, I didn’t know what to expect from a vampire book, since this was the first one I read. After Bella met Edward, that is when I couldn’t stop. I thought Twilight was just great. After I finished The Twilight Saga, I couldn’t wait to read more. I finished the saga in about a week, and that is when I fell in love with vampires!

5: Masquerade, by Melissa de la Cruz is the second book of the Blue Bloods Series. When I first saw the cover of Masquerade, I knew I was going to love reading it. After I read Blue Bloods, I couldn’t wait to finish reading Masquerade. The Blue Bloods Series is one of my all time favorite vampire series.

4: Revelations, part of the Blue Bloods Series, is where the Blue Bloods of Manhattan start to question Schuyler Van Alen. Is she a vampire or not? When will Schuyler’s mom wake up from a coma? What will Mimi Force do when she finds about Schuyler and Jack?  Revelations is filled with suspense and will keep you thinking until you get to the end!

3: The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion, the third and fourth book of The Vampire Diaries Series is also one of my favorites. Elena finally became what she wanted to become, but not the way she intended to. More danger fills in Fell’s Church, and the battle between Stefan and Damon continues.

2: Blue Bloods, the first book of the Blue Bloods Series, is about teenager Schuyler Van Alen. Schuyler is finding her veins and blood turning blue, and a big graving for raw meat. Schuyler is drawn into the world of vampires and learns that she isn’t the only one of her kind.

1: The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening and The Struggle is my current favorite vampire book because it is nothing like the other vampire books I’ve read before. I thought it was funny how Elena tries so hard just to get Stefan’s attention. This book is filled with lots of suspense and danger. You can read my review on this book here.

Well, these vampire books are currently my favorites. What are yours? Please leave a comment about your favorite vampire books. Thanks!

This is a great list for me to start with. I read my first Vampire book a few weeks ago, Twilight. I loved it. I can’t wait to read some of the ones on the list after I finish the Twilight series. Thanks!

You sure read a lot of books. Great vampire list. Although I enjoyed Blue Bloods more than The Vampire Diaries. When do you find time to read so much? Will you still do reviews when you go back to school? What are the other vampire books have you read that didn’t make the top 10? Great site BTW.

To Martin: Yes, it was really hard for me to choose between Blue Bloods and The Vampire Diaries. I really love to read, so I read when I eat breakfast, when I am trying to kill time, and when I have nothing else to do. And yes, I will be doing reviews when school starts. The other vampire books that didn’t make the list are Eclipse, the rest of the Marked series, Vamped, Vampire Kisses, and a lot more that are hard to remember at this moment. Thanks for the comment and come back soon to read more of my reviews!
