Tory Brennan, niece of acclaimed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (of the Bones novels and hit TV show), is the leader of a ragtag band of teenage “sci-philes” who live on a secluded island off the coast of South Carolina. When the group rescues a dog caged for medical testing on a nearby island, they are exposed to an experimental strain of canine parvovirus that changes their lives forever.

THOUGHTS
I found Virals on Twitter! (Oh how I looove Twitter!) Reading the description really got me excited! I am a huge Bones fan, so I just had to get my hands on the book.
I have to say that I LOVED reading Virals! I thought it was a lot better than I expected. Its filled with action and suspense, and everything in between! Kathy Reichs really knows how to write exceptional books! Tory and her friends are a great pack of friends. (Yes, pun is intended.) I love their curiosity.
After reading Virals, I wish I lived on a remote island to explore with my friends. Reichs does an amazing job with her characters, too. You can feel their emotions, how they’re pretty scared but choose to be brave. Tory is CRAZY smart, just like her aunt, Temperance Brennan. Ben is also a cool character, very like-able, quiet, smart. And Hi is hilarious. I love his sense of humor.
Overall, Virals was a great book. I’m really looking forward for the next book. If you’re looking for something to read, read Virals! It has everything in it, you will not be disappointed!
