Wicked Lovely, by Melissa Marr is about teenager Aislinn who was born with the ability to see faeries. Aislinn always followed the rules: don’t stare, don’t speak, and don’t ever attract faeries’ attention. Aislinn has seen faeries hurt other humans: they trip them, pinch them, and many other dangerous things Aislinn is too afraid to mention. Aislinn has tried hard not to get faeries’ attention, but its too late: she has attracted Summer King Keenan. Keenan has been looking for his faerie queen for nine centuries and he is determined Aislinn is the one. Then all of a sudden, none of the rules work for Aislinn: the faeries know that Aislinn can see. Filled with dangerous faeries, Aislinn has her destiny before her.
My opinion on the book: Wicked Lovely has recently become one of my favorite books! I loved reading about Aislinn. Not only because our names were the same, but spelled differently. (Aislinn is pronounced Ash-lin) Aislinn is a very unique, quirky character. Fantasy and faerie fans will love Aislinn from the beginning! Melissa Marr has a great imagination that caught my attention from the beginning of the book. I can’t wait to read her other books!
