Wish, by Alexandra Bullen is about teenager Olivia who has just moved from a small town to the big-city, San Francisco. After her sister’s death, Olivia doesn’t know what to do. She has no friends, no relationships, no social life whatsoever. But when Olivia goes to a tailor to get a dress fixed, she doesn’t get the right dress back. Instead, she gets something nicer and it seems almost magical. Little does she know, the dress is magical. After wishing for Violet back, Olivia is shocked. No one can see or hear Violet except Olivia, so Olivia is glad to have Violet all to herself. Not only is Olivia’s life happier, her social life begins to flourish. Olivia gets into special events, becomes friends with the most popular kids in school, and gets a chance to date her “true love.” Olivia learns how to live her life again, now that Violet is back by her side.
My opinion: Wish has recently became one of my favorite novels. When I first gave my opinion on Judging It’s Cover (view that post here), I wasn’t sure what to expect. But when I finally started to read Wish, I couldn’t put the book down! Wish was such a good book, I felt so bad for doubting it. I thought that Wish was new, different, and fresh. I haven’t read anything like this before, so reading it was really exciting. If you haven’t read Wish, read it! You WILL like it. Because I know I did!
